The way that we are making on foot can also be doned in jeep and San Mauricio's Lake it is the first stop, we will have ask
the schedules of departure and arrival to the different lakes.
To go to the Ratera Lake we will be able to follow the road used by the jeeps or going surround the Lake of San
Maurici following a small road surrounded of vegetation. If we go skirting the lake we will arrive in about 20 min.
to the Ratera Cascade. An impressive cascade surrounded of coniferous.
If to the contrary we have continued by the road that use the jeeps, we could appreciate the Picos de los Encantados
(Charmed Pick) ones that surround the lake. But calm, we will also be able to see also the previous waterfall
(Ratera Cascade), if we follow a deviation signalled on the road that warns us that the cascade is to only 10 minutes.
The Lake Ratera (Km. 9)
We will leave the cascade and return to the road used by the jeeps, as we go ascending for the road the vegetation its more
scarce. We have arrived to the Ratera Lake, in its beginning if we go
jumping the stones until being in middle of the lake, we will be able to make some impressive
pictures. And if we are in time of the thaw we will find small cascades that come out from the among mountains and that end
in the lake.
It is a good moment to rest and to catch forces to make the last part of the route. We will leave the lake behind the crossing
of roads, we will continue in address to the Coma of Amitges (Refuge of Amitges).
Viewpoint San Mauricio's Lake (Km. 9.5) (Optional)
We are at only 2 Km. to the Refuge of Amitges. We recommend to catch the deviation toward the viewpoint of the lake
(10 minutes) where we will be able to enjoy some incredible views of San Mauricio's Lake and from the Picos de
los Encantados (Charmed Pick).
Refuge of Amitges (Km. 11)
The vegetation is scarce and if we are lucky maybe we can see ibex jumping among the rocks.
To the left side of the road we will find a fountain with fresh water, it is advisable
to stop and to catch forces, because we last part of the way its very hard. We will have to overcome an
unevenness of about 400m with two ramps that left us exactly in the Refuge de Amitges.
We have already arrived at the Lake Amitges.
There is few vegetation but also it is a bucolic landscape. We will be able to rest at the shade of some pine get
forces to te return and to the slope.

Hola,
Me han comentado que para subir a los lagos de Aigüestortes no te dejan ir en coche pero se puede ir en jeep. ¿Alguien puede decirme dónde se cogen y cuanto cuestan más o menos? Me gustaría ir al lago de San Mauricio y a Amitges pues en las fotos se ve impresionante. ¿Es muy dificil la ruta?...digamos que no estoy muy acostumbrada a caminar :(

Hola Floreta, como ha comentado José, en la entrada del pueblo (bueno un pelín más adelante) verás en seguida un montón de Jeeps y la 'oficina' donde se compran los billetes. Está al lado de la plaza central además. No tiene perdida XD
Si no recuerdo mal cuesta 3.5€ los adultos y 2.5€ los niños o algo así. Aunque tal vez dependa del recorrido. Si quieres ir a Sant Maurici tienes la opción de subir más arriba en taxi, hasta el Refugi de Amitges y luego volver caminando, o bién subir solo hasta Sant Maurici.
Si te ves con ánimos de caminar 10km (5 ida 5 vuelta) yo dejaría el coche en el parquing que hay a la entrada del parque y subiria caminando a Sant Maurici... VALE LA PENA EN SERIO!!!
Si vas con los abuelos puedes subirlos en el taxi y en lago os reunís... jajaja
PD: Tanto si subes en taxi como si vas caminando, ve con calzado adecuado, que he visto a mucha gente subiendo en zapatitos y chanclas!!

Ei gracias por la información Abejorr (mmm extraño nombre :P) lástima que la haya leido algo tarde, aunque he echo algo parecido a lo que me aconsejabas.
En el pueblo de Espot te informan de todo, al poco de entrar en el pueblo se ve en seguida el servicio de taxi-jeeps y alli te informan de las rutas que hacen y de los precios. Los que dices son actuales (3.5€ adultos y 2.5€ niños). Está muy bien para gente como yo que no está muy entrenada o para llevar gente mayor como era mi caso...lo malo es que provoca que haya mucha gente suba a los lagos y al final se parezca a un viaje organizado en autocar hehehe sobretodo el Lago Sant Mauricio es el que más visitas recibe, en el resto de lagos hay menos gente.
Nosotros decidimos subir hasta arriba (Refugio de Amitges) en jeep y luego bajamos andando...que aunque hay MUCHISIMAS piedras, si lo haces poco a poco no esta mal y el paisaje es impresionante. Tienes razón con el calzado..que a más de una vi con tacones!!! ....con lo comodas que son las bambas! aunque con tanta piedra me dieron envidia algunos montañeros con sus botas de montaña!...Me tendré que empezar a equipar! pues pienso repetir!!

Desde Sant Mauricio la verdad que no empiezan muchas rutas :)
Una vez llegas alli puedes subir al Lago de Ratera (pasando por la cascada) y desde alli ir al Mirador de Sant Maurici, que esta cerquita (como el nombre indica, tendras unas magnificas vistas del lago!!).
Tambien puedes ir al Portarro de Espot, que debe de estar a unas 2 o 3 horas de distancia.
Lo habitual es subir hasta el Refugio de Amitges y volver, o si deseas hacer otras rutas puedes subir a Amitges en Jeep (o hacer noche en el refugio) y desde alli recorrer la gran cantidad de lagos que tienes a mano.

Hehehehe me alegro que te lo pasases bien :) Confio en que no subieses a tus abuelos hasta Amitges! Porque no se como se lo harian para bajar... XDDD
