Montesquieu's Castle Route - Bufadores
Description Route 
This route starts at the village of Sant Quirze de Besora , next to the train station. If we come by car, we could go directly to the entrance of the Montesquieu's castle , which has parking, continuing along the road beside the
Montesquieu's Castle 
station; but also can leave the car at the station and walk to the castle which is located at about 2km away.
If we are walking on the road, we'll cross the Plan Coromina , and we can enjoy the scenery, ancient stone farmhouses surrounded by pastures.
On the right side of the road we will find a wooden house with a level crossing barrier and a fountain, we are very close to the castle. At about 20 meters will see a little way out of the road and goes out to a pasture, it shall take us through the midst of the fields to Montesquieu' Castle, but could continue on the road until you reach the car park of the castle.
We can do a tour by the gardens of the castle or if make a guide tour that
introduce us on its history.
Montesquieu's Castle 
It is believed that the Montesquieu's Castle was built by Earl Guifré I El Pilós in the ninth century, the principle was the location of a large rectangular tower guard plant. It was not until the mid-fourteenth century when it was amended and the castle became a fortified residence for the defense, built the staircase and the central courtyard.
Santa Bárbara's Chapel 
The first-known person who lived in the
castle was Arnau Guillem de Besora. Centuries later, in the XVII century, Lluís Descatllar made a major change to the overall image of the castle, extending the North side and build a chapel dedicated to Santa Barbara, which still retains a splendid charis to lean on. These changes gave to the castle a more noble image.
The gardens of the castle were added in the early twentieth century by Emili Juncadella, belonging to the upper middle class of the moment, made reforms that hid previous enlargements of the building and gave the appearance of a fortified residence castle.
At present, reforms have been made to preserve significant architectural remains, which took in different periods, also integrated within the overall Montesquieu Castle Park, equipping the top floor into a host for exhibitions, conferences and courses. The castle is open to the public and tours can be made.
To start our way to The Bufadors (The Blowing) have to surround the castle by the road and leave it behind, to find a detour to the left where we will go into a path of about 3 meters wide. The road to The Bufadors is very clear, and has no loss although it has a few detours along the way that are not marked.
After 10 minutes walking, we will find a small wooden bridge that will allow us to cross comfortably the Brook Solana. From there the road begins to rise a bit, but with no importance.
After about 15 minutes walking will find a deflection on the road, we continue straight on. In this
