It is one of the most popular routes of the Natural Park of Posets - Maladeta, and
have a few slope, so it is usually performed by families with children. Although the path is not very difficult it should be noted that is long so most of people stay on the prairies of Plan dels Aigualluts and only a few come to the Ibon of Coll de Toro because here the path becomes a bit more abrupt.
Plan dels Aigualluts (Km. 0)
This route starts in Plan dels Aigualluts, described in this web (Plan dels Aigualluts).
We cross the prairies, and a small wooden bridge. We will go up by a small stone hill, we must to be careful to not slip, we are at the Balleta de l'Escaleta.
We will follow the steep road between
cows that we will find quietly grazing.
Since downstream, looking at the
meadow we can see that is plagued by
multiple depressions, like meteor impacts, although this was not the cause of its formation, but the subsoil of this valley contains numerous underground caverns carved
Lake de Coll de Toro (Km. 0)
If we continue down the road we will see at the end of the meadow an information post indicating that the Ibon de Coll de Toro is down the path at our left and on our right-hand the path leads to the Lakes of l'Escaleta.
We will continue on the left path that rises abruptly the mountain, just a few minutes after we will see the impressive Lake Coll de Toro, located between the peaks Pena Nera and Mal dera Artiga, flowing into Vall d'Aran, as it sits squarely in the border.
